Welcome to the third annual Legacy Stage Fringe Festival, where we invite artists and audiences alike to show-up unfiltered, ready to bring exciting and bold performance ideas to our Fringe stages.
This year’s theme challenges us to think beyond the norm:
- Unfiltered voices coming to the forefront of public performance
- Stories that are not typically shared or heard being celebrated
- Allowing our community to express themselves fully
The Legacy Stage Fringe Festival is rooted in the belief that theatre and performance should be accessible, inclusive, and representative of the world we live in, and the world we want to create. Whether you’re a first-time artist or a seasoned performer, we’re thrilled you’re here to help shape this dynamic, growing tradition in the North State.
We’re committed to building a Fringe Festival that is both accessible to artists and sustainable over time. As we continue to learn and grow, we regularly evaluate how to better serve the creative community. For this year’s festival, we’ve readjusted the fee to $25, matching last year’s price, with the added option to volunteer 1 hour in exchange for the fee. The Legacy Stage Fringe Festival was designed by researching several other Fringe Festivals in the country to provide a fully supported production environment. This includes staffed venues (stage managers and light/sound operators), front-of-house staff, professional lighting and sound equipment, an optional scheduled tech rehearsal, marketing and promotion support, and ticketing infrastructure. We believe this shared-cost model reduces the burden on artists while maintaining a high-quality experience for both performers and audiences. We’re grateful for the feedback we’ve received and remain committed to evolving the festival in ways that support artists and Legacy Stage’s mission to grow and sustain professional theatre in Butte County.

Legacy Stage’s annual operating budget helps offset the Fringe Festival’s deficit, allowing us to remain committed to compensating all staff, performers, and crew across both Fringe and our full season. As we continue working to keep application fees as low as possible for artists, sponsorships and volunteer support play a vital role in sustaining the festival. We warmly welcome anyone interested in supporting professional theatre in Butte County to get involved, whether by volunteering or making a tax-deductible donation. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and generous donors who make this work possible.
