MEET THE CAST & CREW

Matthew Teague Miller (Director)
Matthew currently serves as producing artistic director of the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, a professional equity summer theatre in Clinton, Iowa. His favorite productions include the Iowa Premieres of Disney’s Newsies and The Bridges of Madison County, as well as Les Miserables, Green Day’s American Idiot, Reefer Madness, Damn Yankees and Recent Tragic Events. Professional directing credits include work at Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, Lincoln Theatre Napa Valley, Timber Lake Playhouse, Triad Stage and others. As an actor, Miller spent three years touring the country with the original Broadway production of Les Miserables, where he worked under Tony Award-winning director Trevor Nunn and Tony Award-nominated director Jason Moore and performed alongside Colm Wilkinson in his final performance as Jean Valjean. Miller received his MFA in directing from University of North Carolina, Greensboro and his BFA in musical theatre from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Miller is a member of Actor’s Equity Association and is the Vice President of Musical Theatre Education Alliance International.

Erin Horst (Text Coach, Lady Macduff)
Erin is a Co-Founder of Legacy Stage, an actor, teaching artist, producer, and dramaturg. She teaches theatre at California State University-Chico and at Inspire School of Arts and Sciences. Some of her favorite roles include any that are opposite her husband, Kyle, and Mrs. Daldry (In The Next Room, Or The Vibrator Play), Lady Teazle (The School for Scandal), Jane Bingley from (Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley) and The Mother (W.A.S.P.). Erin produced and directed the world premiere of Matt Cox’s Witches?! In Salem!? at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She earned her MA in theatre history and dramaturgy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her BFA in theatre performance from Chapman University in Orange, California. She has also completed actor training and text intensives at both Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and Shakespeare and Company. Erin treasures any opportunity to work in the theatre and feels incredibly fortunate to do it every single day.

Greg Ellery (Macduff)
Greg is a seasoned stage performer with film experience in acting and production. Since his return to Chico a few years ago, Greg has entered the world of education, teaching acting at Butte County Juvenile Hall, and working in Special Education for Chico Unified School District. He continues to work with Slow Theatre to develop curriculum and expand its Education Program.

John Crosthwaite (Macbeth)
John recieved his MFA in Acting from The Theater School (formerly the Goodman School of Drama) at Depaul University in Chicago Illinois. He is also an Artistic Associate with the Oak Park Festival Theater in Oak Park, Illinois. John can also be heard as the Police Chief, Train Conductor, and various characters in the Netflix Original cartoon “Go, Go Cory Carson!” premiering this Winter, 2020 (@kuku_studios). Currently, he resides in Chico with his wife and four-year-old son. Full list of credits available on IMDB.

Kyle Horst (King Duncan)
Kyle studied theatre and design at OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts). He is the coordinator for the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program at CSU, Chico. In addition to both administrating and advising MFT students, Kyle directs the Counselor Training Center, the on-campus training clinic for MFT trainees. Kyle has a Ph.D. in MFT from Kansas State University, an MA in Psychology from Chapman University, and a BFA in Creative Writing from Chapman University. Some of his favorite acting roles include, well, dinner rolls, really, and any roles that give him the opportunity to play alongside his wife, Erin.

Oliver Loll (Angus)
Oliver is a current Junior at CSU Chico State, studying musical theatre, and he’s delighted to be a part of this show! He has been recently seen in Beauty and the Beast as Lumiere and Charlie Brown Christmas as Linus. In addition, he is training to become a sound designer for live theatre, and his work has recently been heard in Chico State’s rendition of River Bride. Oliver would like to thank his current and past professors at Chico State: Dara Scholz, Megan Zollinger, William Johnson, Matthew T Miller, and many more, as well as a special thanks to his family and friends from Pleasanton for this opportunity.

Florence Ives (Gentlewoman)
Florence has been apart of the Butte County theater community for a number of years now, mostly through the Butte College drama program. She is no stranger to Shakespeare and hopes that you love the show as much as she does!

Sofia Gutierrez (Witch)
Sofia is delighted to be in her first professional production with Legacy Stage. She is a junior, Musical Theatre major at Chico State where you may have previously seen her in their productions of A Charlie Brown Christmas as Snoopy as well as Beauty and the Beast as an Ensemble member. She’d like to thank her professors at the Chico State Theatre Department for always pushing her to never stop growing and inspiring her daily. Lastly, she’d like to thank her closest friends and family for all the love and support she’s received.

Leif Keeley Bramer (Donalbain/Seyton)
Leif is making his professional debut in Legacy Stage’s first production, Macbeth. He is currently attending CSU Chico, majoring in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. You might have recently seen Leif as Jason/Tyrone in Hand To God at Blue Room Theatre, as well as Vince in Our House at CSU Chico. Leif thanks his past and current mentors: Matthew Teague Miller, Megan Zollinger, Bill Johnson, Cynthia Lammel, Dara Scholz, Andrew Zollinger, Abigail Paxton, and many others! He would also like to thank his family for always supporting him and believing in his dreams! Thank you for coming and enjoy our show!

Emily Kohler (Witch)
Emily is a Chico local and Butte College student who has loved performing since the age of 4. Favorite recent roles include the Acrobat/“Big Kid” in Matilda the Musical, Mush in Newsies, Sister Mary Lazarus in Sister Act, the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz (CRT). Emily can’t wait to terrify audiences as a very different kind of Witch in Macbeth!

Delisa Freistadt (Ross)
Delisa has been active in Chico theater for 15 years, both onstage and backstage. A founding member of Rogue theater, she now serves on the Board of Directors for the Blue Room Theater. Some favorite past roles include Jane in Jane Eyre, Dottie in Killer Joe, and Kaylee in Gruesome Playground Injuries. She is very excited to be part of the Legacy Stage premiere production and this bold new staging. She lives in Chico with her wife and two dog children.

Jami Witt (Lady Macbeth)
Jami is proud to be a Co-Founder of Legacy Stage. Jami has appeared at professional theatres around the country including Triad Stage, The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, and The Southwest Shakespeare Festival. Jami’s favorite credits include Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Laura in The Glass Menagerie, Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice, Waverly in Recent Tragic Events, Juliet in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire. Jami received her BFA from Eastern New Mexico University and her MFA in Acting from University of North Carolina Greensboro. Jami is a theatre lecturer at California State University, Chico. She loves her dog Waverly, husband Matty, and sweet little girl Mattingly.

Nick Anderson (Lennox)
Nick has been doing theatre most of his life and is very excited to be working for the first time with Legacy stage as Lennox in Macbeth. He has done shows with all of the local theatres and has been in nearly 80 productions in the last decade or so. Some of his favorites have been as the title character in The Elephant Man, The Book Club, Eating Raoul, Heaven Can Wait, The Arsonists, The Lieutenant of Inishmore and The Night Alive, along with his many performances of classic “Twilight Zone” episodes. For the last six years Nick has also portrayed Chico’s founder John Bidwell for dozens of “Living History” events. For the last 16 years his day job has been as a radio disc-jockey on KTHU Thunder 100.7 and KRQR 106.7 Z-Rock under the name “Nick at Night”. He appreciates this unique opportunity that Legacy Stage has given him and would like to Thank all of the people who have supported local theatre!

Thomas Hart (Malcolm)
Thomas is excited to play a role in the launch of Legacy Stage. He studies theatre at CSU-Chico where you might have seen him as Wes in Our House and Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Samantha Lucas (Witch)
Samantha is a student at Inspire School of Arts and Sciences. She recently performed in the world premiere of Witches?! In Salem!? by Matthew Cox at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Other credits include Lord of the Flies at Blue Room Theatre and Romeo and Juliet at Inspire School of Arts and Sciences.

Gabriel Suddeth (Seargent/Murderer)
Gabriel is part actor, part musician, part writer, and all anxiety, who is very excited to be a part of such a cool and engaging adaptation of this classic play. From the small town of Boonville, he’s found himself in Chico, where he’s begun settling in to the local theatre community. You may have most recently seen him perform in Inspire’s Edinburgh Fund production of Anne of Green Gables, directed by the lovely Erin Horst, or in the talented Julia Rue’s directing debut Bloomsday, at the Blue Room Theater, and will hopefully see him in much more to come.

Alejandro Padilla (Banquo)
Alejandro is happy to be back performing Shakespeare in the open air. He had spent many years with the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival performing out in William Land Park. Noted roles there were Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew, Decius in Julius Caesar, and Porthos in The Three Musketeers. Alejandro was last seen as Pastor Greg in Hand to God at the Blue Room Theatre. He hopes to continue to work with Legacy Stage on future projects.

Bryce Corron (Murderer)
Bryce is a recent Butte College graduate who has been studying theatre in acting, playwrighting, and in producing. They’ve been involved with community theater at multiple locations over the years, from shows at Blue Room, Chico Theatre Company, Butcher Shop, and more. They also care about making their communities better through social change and in through the art they help create. They encourage a positive relationship with our homeless population that is rooted in empathy. They hope you enjoy this unique show and appreciate Shakespeare’s words that still endure and have impact after all these years.
