We celebrate the power of theatre to create community and inspire empathy in young and old alike, and support the next generation of theatre artists and enthusiasts through our youth education and young audiences programming.

Are you new to acting or interested in improving your acting technique? This Legacy Stage class is a fun, and safe way to learn the necessities! Voice and speech, movement, improvisation, stage directions and terminology will be taught. Each student will walk away with a strong understanding of how to project their voice, create a character, and teamwork. Students will work together with professional director, theatre artist, and co-founder of award-winning Legacy Stage, Lara Tenckhoff, in scene study while developing their self-confidence and talents. There will be a short performance for friends and family at the end of the class.

$25 materials (due to instructor on first day of class)

October 4th-28th MW 3:00-5 PM 1st-5th

This is Legacy Stage‚Äôs beginning playwright class that will introduce students to storytelling basics and character development using favorite stories and characters as a jumping off place. The course is taught by Erin Horst, co-founder of Legacy Stage, theatre faculty at CSU Chico and Inspire School of Arts and Sciences, and professional actor/director. Students will explore writing plays and character development through art, music, movement, acting, and writing. We’ll work together to activate our imaginations and create our own unique characters and stories. At the end of 4 weeks, students will have written a short play together and will perform it on the last day of class.
